WORKSHOPS
3-14 The Path of Christian Discipleship: The Spirituality of the Disciple
The way we name and describe the spiritual life determines how we understand and interpret our own life experience—indeed, how we perceive the very meaning of our life. In this workshop, Tom describes two ways of looking at spirituality and suggests what each might tell us about who we are. His vision of Christian spirituality liberates us from narrow and even guilt-ridden self-understandings and shows us how grace is at work in our lives even when we least believe it.
5-13 The Goal of Christian Discipleship: Identification with Christ The call to “follow Jesus” can sound like a disciple simply imitates Jesus’ behavior or practices his teachings as one might those of a guru. But Christian discipleship is something much more profound—an invitation to deep transformation and the startling recognition of our true identity as persons. There is simply no greater adventure! In this workshop, Tom explores the process by which that transformation takes place and shows where it is leading us.
