WORKSHOPS

2-11 Aesthetic Theology of Sexuality: Our Identity as God’s ‘Work of Art’

What is an authentic and inviting way to understand the gift and the responsibility of our human sexuality? In this workshop we propose to address this question from the perspective of our identity as God’s work of art. We will explore some of the dimensions of art–-both classical and contemporary–that can inform the choices that we make as artists and co-creators with our God. Participants are invited to reflect on their own experiences of beauty and how it has affected their lives and might be used for spiritual reflection on sexuality. The workshop participants will also address the practical usefulness of this approach to sexuality for others, and especially for our youth.
