WORKSHOPS1-13 The Woman at the Well: a Story of Healing Love How do we glorify God? Does God expect us to do something dramatic, outside the scope of our normal, everyday lives? In the gospel story of the woman at the well—a spiritual seeker like us—Jesus asks the woman to give God what is at hand, the simplicity of a “drink of water.” In return Jesus offers her the “living water.” This water represents grace and the spiritual healing each of us needs in order feel deeply the power of God’s love for each one of us. Fueled by this love, our ministry to God’s people will flourish. Can we glorify God in the simple things of daily life and find the secret to a holiness and joy?
3-09 Motherhood as a Spiritual Journey* This workshop is for mothers and all those who work with children. The holy mothers of Scripture are our models in deepening our understanding of a spirituality of motherhood. Through this spirituality we can glorify God by celebrating our calling to follow Christ through our commitment to the formation of children at each stage of their development. We do this through a nurturing love that has its roots in God own mothering way with us. “Just as God is truly our Father, so also is God truly our Mother” (St. Julian of Norwich). This workshop is based on The Mother’s Calling: Love in the Heart of the World, (Paulist Press, 2011)
